The NC 54 Bicycle and Pedestrian Corridor Safety Study is funded by the North Carolina Department of Transportationís (NCDOT) Traffic Safety Unit. The Traffic Safety Unit works with the stateís 14 highway divisions to implement and evaluate strategies to reduce crashes on North Carolina's roadways.
The project team also includes staff from local and other state agencies, including the Town of Carrboro, Town of Chapel Hill, Chapel Hill Transit, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, NCDOT Division 7, NCDOT Public Transportation, and NCDOT Division of Bicycle and Pedestrian Transportation.
The consultant team is led by VHB, a local transportation planning and engineering firm.
The projectís core team is responsible for coordinating, organizing, and analyzing materials. The team is made up of staff from participating municipalities, institutions, and agencies, including:
